Knott Brake Company Adds New Dynamometer Test Capability

Knott Brake Company is pleased to announce the addition of a variable inertia Brake Dynamometer.  The dynamometer purchased from Volks Wagen was refurbished by Link Engineering utilizing the latest Pro-Link Data Acquisition System. It has a 150 HP motor capable of maximum speeds up to 2000 rpm, inertia of 115.2 Kg m2, a hydraulic brake apply pressure of 3000 psi (207 Bar) and an air circulation system capable of 56 KPH.

With the addition of this new dynamometer, Knott Brake Company no longer has to rely on product
testing by its parent company in Germany or outside sources.  This addition gives Knott Brake
Company the versatility of testing all of its existing and newly designed brake products in-house,
thus improving its time to market capability.  Also, as an added value, the dynamometer offers
enhanced quality control abilities to the company’s friction manufacturing processes. 

The addition of this dynamometer is another example of the commitment by Knott Brake
Company to supply it’s customers with improved quality performance brake products.
