KNOTT BRAKE PRODUCTS
Special Solutions

Our staff knows that bringing a new vehicle to market - or improving the brake system
on an existing product line - is a top priority for you, so it becomes a top priority for us.

Budgets are a reality for us, just as they
are for you. You'll find that Knott brakes are readily cost-justifiable because their
superior design and manufacture mean longer and more effective service life.
That translates into less downtime and
more productive uptime.

A good example of this is with an Ohio steel mill company. The challenge was to reduce spare part inventory and service intervals.
These large machines - which can weigh more than 100,000 pounds when loaded shuttle around the mill up to 1,800 hours before the a brake service is necessary.

This in turn saved time and money as the average brake service was cut from 2
hours per wheel down to just minutes.

The hub, brake rotor and drive sprockets
are also machined at Knott Brake
Company and a complete wheel end assembly is delivered to the customer.
This is typical of how Knott addresses the customer concerns and works to provide
a complete solution.

Value Analysis is what we do.

Customer perceived value is what we strive for from the Chairmen of the Board to the assembly worker on the floor. Knott always looks for ways to improve our product based on the customer needs and wants. For example while touring Tennant, a leading manufacturer of industrial maintenance
equipment, Our Chairman, Valentin Knott made a proposal.

Tennant had a spindle that was made from
a two piece weldment. When Valentin
Knott & President, Hans Kott looked at the assembly the value analysis started immediately. Valentin saw the potential
to make the two piece assembly into a casting where that brake could be
assembled directly to the spindle.

Pictured at the right is the complete assembly, the spindle is integral to the backing plate and when mounted to the Tennant sweeper the wheel assembly is installed.
